Alumni Focus

We are pleased to spotlight two of our UMMC residency alumni, Drs. Caroline Crabtree and Ashton Davis!

Caroline Crabtree, MD

After completing her dermatology residency in 2021, Dr. Caroline Crabtree enjoyed working locally at Magnolia Dermatology in Jackson for two years. When her husband, Reaves, also a UMMC alumnus, finished his orthopedic surgery sports medicine fellowship, they returned to their hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. She now works at Village Dermatology, practicing general and cosmetic dermatology. Caroline enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, Virginia (3.5) and Reaves (2). They especially love any chance they get to spend a free weekend relaxing and making memories at the lake.

Caroline writes, "I am truly honored to have had the opportunity to train at UMMC. I am grateful for all the instruction, mentoring, guidance, and support that were poured into me during my time at UMMC. I am thankful for the relationships with my co-residents and attendings who have shaped me in immeasurable ways, both professionally and personally. I still talk with my resident class on at least a weekly basis. I aim to utilize all that was instilled in me through my training to continue to provide exceptional care for my patients and further the impact and legacy of the UMMC dermatology residency program."

Ashton Davis, MD

After completing her dermatology residency in 2021, Dr. Ashton Davis joined Magnolia Dermatology in her hometown of Clinton, MS, where she is now an equal partner. There, she practices general dermatology with a focus on medical and surgical dermatology to meet the needs of her patient population. When she is not seeing patients, Ashton reports that she enjoys spending time with her husband, Blake, and chasing her four children: Aiden (8), Madelyn (7), Nathan (5), and Anna Leigh (5).

Ashton writes, "I am thankful for the opportunity I had to be a part of the UMMC dermatology residency program. The knowledge, skills, and lessons learned from my attendings, peers, and patients have prepared me to provide the best level of care for my patients today."
